  She panted, her head thrown back, her breasts bouncing beautifully as she took her pleasure from him. He had to touch her. Lifting his torso, he grabbed them.

  She stopped him, taking one of his hands in her own before leaning down to suck on his finger.

  The sensation undid him. His hips rocked hard into her and she yelled again. He loved it. Yes, he wanted to make her scream again. Except that his own pleasure spurted through him. His balls got painfully hard before he exploded inside of her. He came for what seemed like forever as he shouted any number of incoherencies into the room. Screw whoever heard him, they only wished they were him.

  Her teeth came down on his shoulder, biting him hard as she came beautifully.

  Thank God the condom held.

  His head fell back to the floor and her body fell lightly over his. He rubbed her back absentmindedly.

  Finally, she sat up, her eyes huge.

  He touched his neck where she’d bitten him. “Didn’t expect to mate me tonight, did you?”

  Shaking her head, she said, “Didn’t expect to meet you or mate you.” She swallowed, the muscles in her neck clenching. “At least it explains why I couldn’t stay away from you.” She pointed to his neck. “I wanted you so much. Biting you released endorphins inside of me. I’m a little woozy. But you must be feeling even stranger. I guess you know what it means that I bit you.”

  “I do.” His life often became complicated. Working with his brothers created a lot of hassles. No way had he been prepared to get an instant-wife. Still, he couldn’t remember the last time he’d been so content. Sitting up, he reached out and pulled her back down onto his lap. “You and me. We’re together until we die now, isn’t that right? Your animal side picked me.”

  “You don’t have to, I mean, you’re a human. You might not want to.”

  He shushed her with his lips. “Maybe you’d like to tell me your name now.”

  She smiled, looking younger, more vulnerable. He liked all sides of her personality that he’d seen so far. “My name is Yvette Nelson.”

  He nipped her chin. “Hello, Yvette Nelson. I’m Stark Quaid.”

  She blinked rapidly. “Like the big construction project down by the river? Quaid-3.”

  Yawning, he rested his head back down on the ground. “That’s right. Quaid is the company. There’s three of us. We’re developers. An Engineer, an architect, and a contractor. We make corporate centers all over the country.”

  “Oh, hell.” She jumped up. “I’ve just mated and practically forced the biggest employer in the county to be with me.”

  “Forced.” He laughed. “Come down here. I’ll show you how forced I was.”

  Standing naked in front of him, she looked like something out of a dream he hadn’t known he had, but now couldn’t do without. “Yvette, I bet you need to shift right now. Go for a run. Handle your nerves, which are probably shot. Am I right?”

  Goose bumps popped up on her skin. “How did you know that?”

  “I told you, I know shifters. I guess it’s lucky you just mated me.” He’d grown up envying the ones next door and now he got to mate one. Fuck, yes.
